Meet Our Coaches

  • Coach Nicholas

    Coach Nicholas

    Coach Nicholas has been involved with trampoline and tumbling for over 15 years. During this time he has competed for the USTA national team and has also served as national team coach. With a passion for growing the sport, it has been his goal to help athletes of all ages achieve goals and build confidence while having fun in the sport of trampoline and tumbling.

  • Coach Caleb

    Coach Caleb

    Coach Caleb Is a current USA Gymnastics competitive athlete and former USTA national team member. He has been national champion in trampoline, double mini trampoline, power tumbling and synchronized trampoline as well as USTA Michigan athlete of the year. Coach Caleb is dedicated to helping people learn proper technique and achieve goals through safe gymnastics practices.

  • Coach Caden

    Coach Caden

    Coach Caden has been a competitive trampoline and tumbling athlete for eight years and has earned several top three placements at nationals on all three events. Caden enjoys working with young athletes and sharing the fun of the sport with them.

  • Ricky Latham

    Ricky Latham has been involved in tumbling and trampoline since he was eight years old. In 2016, he began coaching in Mason City, Iowa, while also training at the elite level in T&T. Ricky loves coaching and strongly believes in scaffold-based learning.

    He is currently a doctoral student at Michigan State University, where he studies music with a specialization in clarinet. In addition to his studies, he also teaches clarinet lessons.

    Outside of music and coaching, Ricky enjoys learning about marine biology and maintains both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. He also loves studying languages and is currently learning Russian, German, and Mandarin Chinese.

  • Anja Whitehouse

    Anja Whitehouse has been involved in gymnastics since 2006. She competed in high level USAG Trampoline & Tumbling for 8 years as well as GVSU club gymnastics for 4 years. She has been coaching both artistic & T&T gymnastics since 2015. She has been a Category 3 judge on all events since 2021. Anja enjoys teaching proper gymnastics technique while also helping to foster athlete’s individual growth and their love of the sport.

    Anja graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2024 with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and in 2025 with a Masters in Athletic Training. She is a board certified athletic trainer and loves working with high school and collegiate athletes. Outside of the gym, Anja enjoys reading, being outside, and working out.

We are fully committed to upholding and adhering to the USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Policy, and we have implemented a range of safety measures within our gym to ensure a secure environment:

  • Enhanced Surveillance

    Our facility is equipped with round-the-clock video surveillance, providing comprehensive monitoring to safeguard the well-being of both gymnasts and coaches.

  • Safe Sport Certified Coaches

    All our coaches undergo rigorous Safe Sport training and hold certifications from USA Gymnastics, ensuring they are well-prepared to create a safe and supportive training environment.

  • Thorough Background Checks

    Prior to joining our team, all staff members and coaches at GR Trampoline Academy undergo thorough background checks, guaranteeing the utmost professionalism and safety.

  • Transparent Practices

    We welcome parents to observe their children's practice sessions, as we believe in fostering transparency and encouraging family involvement. There are no private coaching areas within our gym.

  • Guardian Presence for Private Lessons

    Athletes are not allowed to have one-on-one sessions with staff members unless a parent or guardian is present, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our athletes.

  • Regular Equipment Inspections

    We conduct frequent checks and maintenance of our trampoline equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize any potential risks.

Competition Team

Build confidence and fitness while making friends and having fun.

Our competitive team is for all athletes ages six and older who love to flip and bounce. Team athletes practice between 4-9 hours a week and compete at meets across the state, region, and country depending on level.
